Staffordshire is soon to be flooded with explorers, treasure hunters and sleuths as an award-winning Cornish company expands into the area. Treasure Trails Ltd writes treasure hunts aimed a getting families, couples and groups of friends out and about in the fresh air, exploring, experiencing and learning about their local region in a very fun and unique way.

The company already has 380 Trails across the UK and knows that Staffordshire, with its diverse landscape and fascinating history was the ideal location for their next venture.  If you are looking for a way to keep the children entertained this summer, and without breaking the bank, this is the perfect solution.

Each Trail has clues to be solved with the answers located on existing buildings, monuments and structures. Children (and adults!) love the thrill of being the first one to find a clue and solve the mystery and, as the routes are usually around two miles long, you can spend quality time together as a family away from the TV, on a healthy and fun walk. The Trails are Treasure Hunt, Murder Mystery or Spy Mission themed and are completed in your own time and at your own pace. Rachel Evans and her family recently completed the Worcester Treasure Trail and said, ‘I think it’s a great idea. We saw all kinds of interesting aspects to Worcester which we would never have noticed otherwise; it prompts you to look above shop front level and see what the buildings were originally designed for, which was fascinating. I think it would appeal to any age from 8 to 80.’

Local couple Sue & Ivan put their love of the area to good use when they became the managers for Staffordshire. ‘We loved the idea of getting people outside exploring and when we first came across Treasure Trails we knew it would be a fantastic way to show visitors and locals all the great places the county has to offer.’

The couple can often be seen pounding the miles around towns and villages near you, squinting at old signs, loitering around churchyards  and furiously scribbling clues as they write more and more Trails.

There are currently 7 trails available, or about to be released, and at least 20 more are planned for this year.
